Our Story
After renting space from two local churches for our first five years of operation, we were made aware of this vacated property in east Mesa in early 2015. After lots of prayer, research, emails and calls, meetings, paperwork, and fundraising, God put all the pieces together for us. We took possession of the property on June 1, 2015.
The building/property was in very bad shape, but Cheryl Mexin's contractor husband, Rick, jumped right in. Some walls came down, others went up. Electrical and plumbing nightmares were remedied. Painting went on for days and days. TONS of cleaning. Some visitors were doubtful that we would be ready for school to start. However, in true Mexin style, and with God's provision and grace, school began on time for the 2015-2016 school year.
As MCA continues to grow and change, we've made many updates and adjustments to the buildings and property to better fit the needs of the school and our students. And as God and supporters provide, we will continue to do so. The many miracles and ways God has provided for us so far through this process (and continues to!) are mind-blowing. Just as local churches once opened their doors to us, now we are able to open our doors to others in the community. We've hosted family parties, HOA meetings, a local church's AWANA program for a year and a half, concerts and sing-a-longs, church services, and many other types of events. If you're looking for a venue for a meeting, party, Bible study, church services, etc., please contact the office for more info.
We thank you all for your prayers, support, donations, and hours of labor and sweat. We still have much more to do, but we are trusting God to continue to provide everything that is needed.
